INTENTIONAL GIVING

Do you ever wonder, “When I give to the General Ministry Fund of Warehouse 242, what is the impact of my contribution?” The following examples inside this booklet are some of the ways W242 is participating in the world alongside core partners and friends. When you give financially or tithe to the General Ministry Fund of Warehouse 242, your gift impacts the entire reach of W242 as we continue living out our purpose of cultivating missional followers of Jesus.

GENERAL MINISTRY FUND

While special funds still exist (e.g. Benevolence), the General Ministry Fund is the primary fund for the entire ministry of W242, including pastoral work, all staffing, and the overall reach and partnerships of W242. Although our new budget is $100,000 less than last year, we have much less cash on hand than last year and a smaller giving base. W242 is praying for an increase of $6,000/month in scheduled giving to sustain our missional reach throughout 2020 in order to prevent dipping into our cash reserve.

ROOF REPAIR

W242’s building is a collective hub for weekly worship gatherings, spiritual formation and discipleship, for a wide range of community events, city-wide gatherings, nonprofits fundraisers, youth development, the arts, and core conversations that convene people from all walks of life. To sustain this heartbeat, we need to repair an aging roof. For questions, please write [email protected]

BENEVOLENCE

Christmas is a chance to move closer to those in crisis. We will love others as Jesus loved us. The poor and hurting of our world can be reached by God through the way we choose to celebrate Christmas. This includes walking with those across the aisle through small groups, gatherings, homes, among families, children, and students through whole-life discipleship. This includes assisting voices among us who need benevolent care, counseling, or pastoral care during a season that is difficult for many of us. If you are in a place of need, please reach out by writing to [email protected]

ADOPTION & FOSTER CARE

Christmas is a time of supporting the dreams of families who are attempting to care for children affected by foster and adoptive care systems. W242 is committed to walk with families who need resources to make adoption and care possible through adoptive counseling and financial assistance. To learn more about foster care resources for parents, check out Foster Village Charlotte [fostervillagecharlotte.org]. If you have interest in learning more, please write to [email protected]

THREE PATHWAYS

We have three focused pathways that overlap locally and globally as we attempt to live and share the good news of Jesus: Caring for Resilient Children, Welcoming Families Affected by Incarceration, and Waging Peace Builders in a World of Trauma. The following are examples of ways W242 supports initiatives financially and relationally as we attempt to come alongside Core Partners, Friends, and Participating Members near and far.
