The Skinny: February 16, 2020
HEADLINES & SUNDAY ANNOUNCEMENTS
HOSPITALITY TEAM MEETING
Sunday, February 23, 2020 ~ 11:30am-12:30pm
This is for all current members and those who are interested in joining a hospitality team. (coffee, greeters, parking, open/close, & welcome kiosk) There’s lots of new stuff stuff coming down the pipe so we’ll meet for a bit as a large group and then break up into our respective teams for further training.
ASH WEDNESDAY AT WAREHOUSE
Wednesday, February 26, 2020 ~7:00pm-8:00pm
This evening is curated as an interactive service of prayer and reflection, open to all ages. We recognize that life is fragile, the world is not what God originally intended, and we share a deep need for rest and renewal. Come as you are to experience a time of quiet reflection, stations of the cross, family prayer stations, a dual path labyrinth, and opportunity to be marked with ashes. The invitation is to come home, to re-center, and attune ourselves to the story of God. Come home to the call of Jesus who welcomes all with open arms as we enter Lent, leading toward the way of the cross, rest for the weary, and water for your soul. Childcare provided for infants to 5 years old.
Sunday, March 15, 2020 ~ 12:00pm-2:00pm
Wonder Exchange provides a place for parents and elementary-aged children to wonder about God through scripture and to respond together through art. We will eat lunch together and dive into wondering and creating together.
2020 WOMEN’S RETREAT
Friday, March 27, 2020 – Sunday, March 29, 2020
Join with other women of Warehouse for a weekend out of our normal Charlotte hussle to slow down and spend time together exploring the ideas of refreshment, revival and restoration as our speaker, Cammie Howard, takes us through Romans. While Cammie will speak in a large group setting there is also opportunities for small group discussion and plenty of down time to relax, laugh, and get to know each other!
FOLLOW SERIES COMMUNITY READING PLAN
Join us each week as we dive deeper into the book of Mark. To go along with the new series, we’ve created a great community Bible reading plan. In this time between Christmas and Easter, we’re going to journey through Mark’s Gospel together and explore the vast terrain between Jesus’ birth and resurrection. In doing so, our hope is that we would come to know Jesus in a deeper way and respond resolutely to the call to follow him.
EXPECTANT MOTHER CARE TEAM
The hope of the Expectant Mother Care team is to come alongside families in our community as they are expecting through pregnancy, fostering or adoption. Our desire is to be present in the waiting, struggles, fears and celebrations. Join our team to help provide practical support and care. Expecting? Let us know! We’d love to support you.
NEW BUILDING & GROUNDS VOLUNTEER TEAM
Do you like to get your hands dirty? Do you love our home at 2307 Wilkinson Blvd? Our new building & grounds team will be available to tackle various odd jobs around our building and grounds (simple repairs, grounds maintenance, minor painting, etc.) outside of our annual Building Beautiful Days. If you are interested in helping to keep our building hospitable, comfortable and safe for our visitors, members and children, please contact Bob Gluck.
STUFF YOU SHOULD KNOW
At the end of every month we send out an email letting you know what we’ve got coming up. If you’d like to be on that list, email Cameo Carter.
