HEADLINES & SUNDAY ANNOUNCEMENTS
FOLLOW SERIES COMMUNITY READING PLAN
Sunday, December 29, 2019 – April 12, 2020
Join us each week as we dive deeper into the book of Mark. To go along with the new series, we’ve created a great community Bible reading plan. In this time between Christmas and Easter, we’re going to journey through Mark’s Gospel together and explore the vast terrain between Jesus’ birth and resurrection. In doing so, our hope is that we would come to know Jesus in a deeper way and respond resolutely to the call to follow him.

DIVINE CONSPIRACY COHORT
Sunday, January 19, 2020 – Sunday March 22, 2020 ~ 8:30am-9:30am
For many of us, we can celebrate our love for Jesus but we do not have regular, healthy, honest patterns of true discipleship. Dallas Willard, in his book The Divine Conspiracy: Rediscovering our Hidden Life in God, aptly writes, “We fail to be disciples only because we do not decide to be. We do not intend to be disciples. It is the power of the decision and the intention over our life that is missing.
During our gatherings we will engage this brilliant book which skillfully weaves together biblical teaching, popular culture, science, scholarship, and spiritual practice, revealing what it means to “apprentice” ourselves to Jesus. Using Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount as his foundation, Willard masterfully explores life-changing ways to experience and be guided by God on a daily basis, resulting in a more authentic and dynamic faith.

We’ll be staying at a spacious lodge in Banner Elk, arriving in time for lunch on Jan 18th and departing after breakfast on the 20th. Sking/tubing is self pay at Sugar Mountain on Saturday and Sunday, and if teens would rather stay warm at the lodge we’ll have tons of games, movies, crafts and indoor/outdoor activities to keep them busy. We’ll conclude the evenings with worship and s’mores. Registration will be $135 per person. Scholarships are also available, and you can save $10 with early-bird pricing if you register by midnight on December 19th.
