STORYOLOGY & BE THE BRDIGE COHORTS BEGIN
Sunday, October 6, 2019  ~ 8:30am-9:30am

The Storyology Cohort seeks to invite us in, with all our stories, to the discovery of a better story – one that shines brightly. We believe that God has designed a world full of wonder and possibility and He uses stories, words, and truth to ignite us and set us free. We will wrestle with the implications of story and theology (hence, Storyology) as it pertains to God, ourselves, and our neighbors. This Cohort will meet each Sunday at 8:30 in the Blue Room from October 6th – November 17th. Join here.

Be the Bridge discusses waging Peace in a world of trauma is one of our new core areas of action at W242. In weekly Sunday morning gatherings, we will explore how Jesus promotes the strength of non-violence and healing to be the bridge across human lines that divide. Be the Bridge is a cohort to inspire the church to have a distinctive and transformative response to racial division – to inspire the church to be present and intentional towards racial reconciliation through listening, humility, and solidarity. This Cohort will meet each Sunday at 8:30 in the Blue Room from October 6th – January 19th. Join here.

242 BENEVOLENCE CAMPAIGN
August & September 2019

During our “242” teaching series, we are revisiting our founding verses in Acts 2:42-47 and exploring how the Spirit is leading us to improvise life together today. Part of this life together involves radical generosity toward those in need, so during the months of August and September, we are praying for 242 people to give $242 to our benevolence fund. This fund is used in beautiful ways to care for those in need both within and outside our church community, and we are excited to continue doing so in transformative ways. To contribute $242 to this campaign, text 242 BEN to 704-445-5242 or visit our giving page and select “Benevolence” from the drop-down menu.

ASHLEY PARK UNIFORM GIFT REGISTRY
September & October 2019

Ashley Park has been ranked as the highest poverty school in the district. One of the implications of that ranking is that there are students who need help acquiring uniforms to last throughout the year. There is no financially supportive PTA, and the school relies on Community Partners to stock the clothes closet so that replacement uniforms are not paid for out of the pockets of the staff and teachers. In response, Warehouse has set up a Target Gift Registry! Go online and pick out some items from the registry. Many of them are currently on sale – you can get a shirt and pants for $12. You can choose to have your items delivered directly to Warehouse 242 where we will sort them and deliver them.
