Urban Promise Book Drive

Read Charlotte affirms there is a direct correlation between the number of books in students’ home libraries and their performance on state standardized tests. Warehouse has an opportunity to partner with Urban Promise to make sure that students are set up for success over the summer by providing books to build their home libraries and supply fresh summer reading material. The goal is to send each K-6th grade scholar home with 5 free, gently used or new books at their upcoming Book Fair.

Here is how you can help.

1. If you have kids, look through their home library and donate any books they enjoyed reading and are below their current reading level. This is a great opportunity to purge and share the love of books with another student.

2. If you want to participate but currently don’t have children’s books at home, go to any new or used book store and buy a few books (remember to look or ask for K-6th grade level material).

3. Bring the books to Warehouse on April 28 and May 5. There will be collection bins at Kids Check-In and in the Coffee Room. We’ll make sure they get sorted and delivered to Urban Promise in time for their Book Fair! Any books left over will be donated to Ashley Park.
