The Skinny: January 20, 2019

Headlines & Sunday Announcements

Sundays, February 3 – March 3, 8:15am / The Blue Room

In this Cohort, we will look more closely at the process of “finding your type” and you’ll receive some additional resources to help you on your journey. We will skim the surface of the Enneagram symbol (the 9 types, the wings, the arrows) to give a basic understanding of how it can be used and then provide you with basic and practical tips for using it in conjunction with various other spiritual disciplines in your day-to-day life that will assist you in your daily walk toward transformation.

Sundays, February 10 – March 3, 11:45am / The Coffee Room

During our From this Earth series (February 3 – March 3), we’re exploring the possibility of embracing both scientific insights and biblical revelation when it comes to difficult and important topics like evolution, human origins, sexuality, and morality. For each of these topics, we’ll be hosting a talkback lunch for questions and answers in the coffee room immediately following the Sunday service (11:45am-1:30pm). Tickets are free, but there are only 32 tickets available for each lunch. To allow more people to participate, please pick the ONE topic that interests you the most and reserve your spot. Anyone in 6th grade or older is eligible for a ticket, and free childcare will be available for kids in 5th grade and under. After consulting the schedule below, click here to register for yourself or your family.

The week before each lunch, if there are still spots available, we’ll allow you to register for a second lunch. Contact [email protected] if you’d like to be on a waitlist.

February 10: Human Uniqueness and Evolutionary Science
February 17: Human Origins and Genetic Science (with special guest Scot McKnight)
February 24: Human Sexuality and Biological Science
March 3: Human Morality and Social Science

Wednesday, January 23, 6:15pm / The Arena

Join us for an evening filled with conversation, listening, and learning as we hear from experts on the topic of Resilient Children and discern how we as a community – both within the walls of W242 and our City as a whole – can come alongside these families and the organizations dedicated to transforming their lives.

In the weeks to come you’ll be hearing more about other events and opportunities going on in the first month of the new year. If you want to go ahead and fill up your calendar, check out the email that went out earlier this week. If you aren’t currently receiving our emails, contact Kelly Brunk and she’ll make sure we have your correct contact info!
