Headlines & Sunday Announcements

WOMEN’S RETREAT – REGISTRATION CLOSES TOMORROW!

April 27-29 / Valle Crucis Conference Center

Gather with other women of Warehouse for a weekend away from our normal Charlotte hustle to slow down and spend time together exploring the ideas of refreshment, revival, and restoration. Our speaker, Dawn Woods, will take us through the Bible to hear God’s word on these necessary components of vibrant wholeness. While Dawn will speak in a large group setting, there will also be opportunities for small group discussion and plenty of down time to relax, laugh, and get to know each other!

Registration closes Monday, April 16, and the registration fee is $180. We don’t want finances to stand in the way of someone being able to experience this, so we do have scholarship opportunities available. If you’d like to learn more about that, email Melissa King.

A CONVERSATION ABOUT BELONGING

Sundays, April 15- May 20 / 8:45-9:45am

All of us long for true belonging, and all of us have a dream of what that looks like. In reality, however, our search for belonging is often a whole lot messier, more uncomfortable, and more awkward than we imagined it would be. What do we do when our dream for belonging clashes with reality? In our effort to belong to a church, we are also searching for a meaningful story, authentic community, beautiful truth, faithful friends, compelling mission, and a place that feels like home.

In this six-week class and conversation, we will explore various practical barriers to belonging, the things we can do address those barriers, the wild side of the search for belonging that is out of our control, and the opportunities along the way to embrace more deeply our mysterious belonging to Christ and his body. Will you embrace the invitation? Will you extend the invitation to others? Please join us for a beautiful, honest, and necessary conversation on the important subject of belonging. Childcare will be provided.

MARRIAGE & PARENTING CLASS / SUMMER OF SHALOM

Sunday, April 22, 5-7pm

Warehouse 242 invites parents or soon to be parents to join us Sunday, April 22 as we listen to Kristin Daley lead us through a class in which we evaluate the guiding values that drive our decisions, the experiences that can meet and foster individual growth, and expectations that create opportunities for success.
Kristin is not only a Participating Member at Warehouse, she also has her PhD in Clinical Health Psychology. As we head into late spring, we hope to provide Warehouse families with direction toward intentional time and relational growth. Kristin will guide us through how we set a path to peace and intentional relationships within our families.

We’ll gather in the Coffee Room at Warehouse. Childcare will be provided. Please register to let us know you’re coming!

WAREHOUSE TALKS: UPWARD MOBILITY AND THE ARTS

Tuesday, May 8, 6:30-8:30pm

In a well-known study by the Equality of Opportunity Project, Charlotte ranks dead last out of America’s 50 largest cities in the area of economic mobility. While education, family stability, career readiness, and other strategies are critical, could it be that the arts are an untapped resource for addressing upward mobility?

How are the arts crucial in holistic development and educational success? How could the arts help us come to terms with our history of segregation and exclusion while giving us new ways of imagining the future together? How might arts organizations, networks, and advocates lead the way in providing opportunity for those who lack social capital? Join us for this evening of stimulating conversation and new possibilities.
