WAREHOUSE WOMEN ADVENT WREATH MAKING PROJECT
Tuesday, November 28, 7-9pm
We have a beautiful tradition in our community of gathering before the season of Advent to build Advent wreaths. Advent will be here soon, and so will our wreath event!
The word “Advent” in Latin means “coming.” An Advent wreath is a table-top display that holds candles to be lit each week as Advent progresses, marking the coming of Christ and our expectant waiting. Instructions are provided to make it as simple as possible, and it is truly just a fun and festive evening!
Please join us on Tuesday, November 28 from 7-9pm at homes in various neighborhoods to connect with women who live in your area as we build wreaths to use in our own homes during Advent.
Since we will gather in homes across the city, please use this link to register and you will be contacted by your host with details about the home where you will make your wreath.
We look forward to being with you!

CHANGED CHOICES CHRISTMAS PARTY
Saturday, December 9, 2-4pm
Warehouse 242 has the honor of hosting the Changed Choices Annual Christmas Party on December 9. Attendees include those who are directly impacted by incarceration and their allies. It is a wonderful celebration of the hope that we have in Jesus, whose arrival as a baby pierced the darkness of this world and of our hearts. Miea Walker will be the keynote speaker. She is a friend in Raleigh, NC connected with the Christian Community Development Association and the North Carolina Justice Center. Most recently, Miea was appointed to the Governor’s State Rentry Council Collaborative.
This year, the theme of the Christmas Party is “Let Every Heart Prepare Him Room.” The first response to Jesus on this earth was “no room in the inn.” Even so, God showed humanity radical hospitality and “made room” in his divinity for us by sending his son Jesus into the world. How can we prepare room in our hearts for Jesus? What does it look like to prepare room in our hearts for each other? How can our larger society “prepare room” for those affected by incarceration?
As a congregation, W242 is being invited to extend radical hospitality in all sorts of ways.

ONE SERVICE BEGINNING DECEMBER 24
Beginning the morning of December 24, we will start gathering for one service only at 10am. There are several reasons for this, not the least of which is we just love having all of you in the room at the same time! In addition to providing a more vibrant time of worship, moving to one service will free up time before and after for other classes and spiritual development opportunities.
Stay tuned for information on the new plan for Kids Warehouse families and volunteers! It’s exciting stuff!
