The Skinny: April 16, 2017

Headlines & Sunday Announcements

Sunday, April 16

We gather twice this Easter weekend. On Friday we’ll came together for Tenebrae — a night of original art, music, and spoken word that marks the last moments of Jesus’ life on earth. On Sunday, we celebrate true joy in marking Easter — wenevin re-examine the story of Jesus’ plan to rescue us from a broken world.
We expect transformation in the midst of being struck by the reality that God is pursuing every one of us. To that end, our community is coming together to celebrate and gather around a desire to know more about how God desires to transform our lives.

Following the second service, we’ll have an open picnic at Nevin Community Park for all of Warehouse. Bring your own food/drinks. We’ll supply the shelter and the gathering place. Bring any lawn games you think would be fun!

It’s elder election time! At Warehouse 242, ruling elders are a critical part of our core leadership team along with our staff. The elders are responsible for discerning the mind of Christ for our community and shepherding our Participating Members. They are recognized leaders who are passionate about guarding and promoting the truth, beauty, and goodness of the gospel in our midst. As such, elders must be Participating Members (both men and women) who demonstrate the necessary leadership and character qualities laid out in Scripture. You can learn more about qualifications here.

After receiving nominations, our elder search team spent the last few months interviewing candidates for the role of elder, and each candidate also went through an orientation process with Wes, our Lead Pastor. At this point in the process, Wes and the elder search team are enthusiastic to present Jim Bunting for election as elder, and Joel Kuehn to roll back on Session after 2 years as a non-Sessional elder. If elected, both Jim and Joel would serve actively for a three-year term with our other active elders. Participating Members will be asked to vote on these two elder candidates after each service on April 23. If you are a Participating Member, you will be receiving an email soon providing photos and bios for both candidates. If you have questions about this process or would like more information about Jim or Joel, email [email protected]
