Exploring Participating Membership

How do I join Warehouse 242?

Participating Membership is an antidote to our commitment-phobic culture. Within a culture that approaches commitment with the attitude, “I’ll do it if I feel like it,” our approach is: “In order for our church’s mission to be accomplished, my membership is essential.” When it comes to church, the Bible leaves no room for sitting on the sidelines and watching, which is why we call it participating membership.

To be a Participating Member means discovering how God has gifted you and serving according to that gift inside our walls and beyond (1 Corinthians 12:12-31). It involves diving into relationships of high support and high challenge (Hebrews 10:23-25). It’s about moving forward in your own spiritual journey and helping others do the same. In short, to be a participating member means making the church’s mission your personal mission.

Loading Dock: The Class

Loading Dock is our class designed for those people ready to consider Participating Membership and want to know more. Far from being a rubber stamp process, Loading Dock is designed to give you the information you need to answer three core questions:

1. Do the mission, vision, and core commitments of Warehouse quicken my pulse?
2. Do I share Warehouse’s beliefs about the essential theological stuff?
3. Am I ready to dive in and be an active participant in the mission?

The class provides information about who we are, what we believe, and what we expect of our Participating Members. It meets before the service on Sunday upstairs in the Blue Room. We’ll watch the kids so you can attend. We’ll meet over 3 Sundays in May (5, 12, & 19), and it is important that you be able to attend all 3 classes.
